Welcome! Specializing in massage for athletes. Pre-event massage, Post-event massage, training massage, energy work, rehabilitative massage, restorative massage.

Massage Therapy and Body work are an important part of my training process. I have had at least 15 years in learning about the body and how it works through workshops, seminars, local and touring masters of Taijiquan and Qigong. I attended Qi Elements school of Tai Chi and Massage in Herndon Virginia for my Massage Therapy education. I graduated my 505 hour course in Massage Therapy July 2005 and passed the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB)in December 2005. Massage school includes Pathology, Anatomy, Clinical Massages, Tai Chi, Qigong, Massage Theory and Practice, Ethics, and Techniques. I am a student member of the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association). I have Reiki Level I and II certification through Nancy Bloomfield. Currently my ambitions are to get a local permit, business license, and upgrade my status as Massage Therapist with AMTA. I have an active Massage Therapist license in Virginia #0019006078 under the Virginia Board of Nursing from June 2006 until July 2010. With the new NCETMB board implementing everyone retake a 500 hour course, I have not retaken classes and re-tested in 2013 to keep my national certification. I see no reason to since I am not in the industry of massage therapy. I choose to work on my friends and not a business.

2006 to 2012, I spent a significant amount of time a various MMA and boxing schools working and teaching some basic massage. Some of the teachers and professional fighters I have worked on have been:

Tyson DeWees- Full contact fighter, Personal trainer- " As a massage therapist myself I am highly critical of most massage. Matt Stampe was not only able to give me a good massage and help with a nagging IT Band issue, but his knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology is very strong. He can explain the strokes and why he is doing them(I know I asked). His hands are experienced and he knows what an athlete and fighter needs to stay healthy and at the top his game. I would recommend Matt Stampe to anyone looking for a good and thorough therapeutic massage." -Ty(Tyson) DeWees

Mark "Diamond Heart" DeLuca- Pro Muay thai fighter (20 pro fights). Testimonial: "I recently had a 90 minute Thai massage to help prepare my body before my last professional Muay Thai fight and was extremely happy with the result! The combination of stretching and pressure left me feeling relaxed, yet energized. The experience was outstanding and I hope to do it again soon!"-Mark Deluca.

Jeff Ruth- owner and professional MMA fighter (9-0)

Dave Kaplan- professional MMA fighter (3-4)

Derek Sierra- professional Boxer (1-4-3)

David Carter- owner and fighter of relentless Muay thai(6-0)

Mike Easton-professional MMA fighter (13-3)

Ryan Hall- owner 50/50 BJJ and professional MMA/BJJ fighter (2-1)

Lloyd Irvin- MMA school owner and fighter (3-0)

Todd "White Lightning" Wilson- Pro Boxer (15-0)

In 2009 I focused on 45 hours of CEU's (Continuing education). I returned to my roots in Polarity Therapy. I also chose CEU's in Sports Massage, Chinese Acupressure, and the required ethics courses.

My areas of expertise come from practicing on friends for over 20 years the techniques learned from first being a student Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong teachers who taught Feldenkrais, Polarity, and acupressure massage techniques. I also had various exposure to teachers and schools of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), Reiki, Swedish massage, a Chinese modality called 'Tai Chi Massage', Thai Massage, Hatha Yoga, and Foot Reflexology. It sounds like a lot but they are all integrated into my massage session.

If you train in various sports and would like treatment, please email me at mattstampe@hotmail.com and we can discuss a program combining Taijiquan, Qigong, massage and bodywork just for you!

Every year since 2009, my wife and I go to Thailand. We go to temples where they teach massage like 'Wat Po' and professional spas (My Care, Massage Land) to get Thai massage. Thai massage sessions were 2 hours and cost about $7 usd (as compared to 120.00 USD in America). We got massage every other day for two weeks on our visits. Thai massage sessions are able to heal injuries from over training in Muay Thai (Thai kickboxing)and other sports. Since that time my style of massage took an evolution from table to mat massage with an increase of the modalities used in Thai massage.
