Welcome! Specializing in massage for athletes. Pre-event massage, Post-event massage, training massage, energy work, rehabilitative massage, restorative massage.

Massage Therapy and Body work are an important part of my training process. I have had at least 15 years in learning about the body and how it works through workshops, seminars, local and touring masters of Taijiquan and Qigong. I attended Qi Elements school of Tai Chi and Massage in Herndon Virginia for my Massage Therapy education. I graduated my 505 hour course in Massage Therapy July 2005 and passed the National Certification Exam for Theraputic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB)in December 2005. Massage school includes Pathology, Anatomy, Clinical Massages, Tai Chi, Qigong, Massage Therory and Practice, Ethics, and Techniques. I am a student member of the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association). I have Reiki Level I and II certification through Nancy Bloomfield. Currently my ambitions are to get a local permit, business license, and upgrade my status as Massage Therapist with AMTA. I have an active Massage Therapist license in Virginia #0019006078 under the Virginia Board of Nursing from June 2006 until July 2010.

In 2009 I focused on 45 hours of CEU's (Continuing education). I returned to my roots in Polarity Therapy. I also chose CEU's in Sports Massage, Chinese Acupressure, and the required ethics courses.

My areas of expertise come from practicing on friends for over 18 years the techniques learned from Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong practice with various exposure to teachers and schools of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), Polarity Therapy, Reiki masters, Swedish, a Chinese method called 'Tai Chi Massage', Movement Education, Energy Work, Accupressure Therapy, Thai Massage, Hatha Yoga, and Foot Reflexology. It sounds like alot but they are all integrated into my massage session.

If you train in various sports and would like treatment, please email me at mattstampe@hotmail.com and we can discuss a program combining Taijiquan, Qigong, massage and bodywork just for you!
