Dr. Walls-Kaufman is a 19-year student of Mr. Benjamen Lo, who is a senior student of Prof. Cheng Man-ch'ing. Dr. Walls-Kaufman won the Cheng Man-ch'ing championship in Italy, in 2006. His emphasis is on the spiritual aspects of tai chi. "Without the spiritual aspects of tai chi, you'll never get the martial." The class focuses upon the Old School techniques for developing the tai chi connection to the earth so that the "lighter" elements of ch'i can animate the body, the mind, and promote health. All levels welcome! Push hands practice is open and friendly. Dr. Walls-Kaufman also welcomes martial artists who are curious about tai chi concepts and methods applying to more traditional takes on martial science.
